I'm sure that if you are just getting into the idea of On-Line business you may have some ideas about making money selling products and services, whether it is E-Books, Widgets or whatever. You might have in mind a product already and be anxious to make this your business. It's always good to have a product in mind to promote and sell when you start out. Believe it or not it's not absolutely necessary, but you will see those possibilities later.


That is not your 'Business'. When you look back and say to yourself, 'I'm glad I took that step' and started 'Working for Me', you may have had many different products and services over the years. If you have done it right, you will still have the same 'Business' Your 'Business is Your List'.


Let me explain. As you deal with customers by e-mail or phone or actual letters, you are 'building a list'. This is a list of 'People' who have become familiar with you. When they see a communication from you they don't delete it. They say 'I wonder what they has for me today? I've made money with their ideas before. I hope this is as good as the last one'.


This 'List' that you build over time is GOLD. Don't abuse it.

On average a 'Customer' will require 7 contacts from you before they actually 'Buy' your Product.


Your 'LIST' consists of people who have already gone through that process and have established a relationship with you. A List of only a couple thousand 'Regular' (repeat) customers that are satisfied with the business previously done with you, may be enough to keep bread on the table for years.

DON'T SPAM: As you build your List, divide it into segments of 499 or less addresses.
The larger On-Line companies like AOL, Yahoo etc. have been known to tag as a SP^AM SITE, any site that mails 'too much' 'too fast' from the same e-mail address.

They decide what is too much too fast. For example your message may be blocked from friends and relatives expecting m*ail from you. Just a Thought.
